Following the receipt of nominations earlier in the year, the Council of the Society has approved the award of the following honors:
Eminence-in-Science Award: two awards to Professor Rolf P. M. Bak (Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, Den Burg, Netherlands) and Dr. James W. Porter (Odum School of Ecology, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA)
ISRS Mid-Career Award to: Professor Joshua E. Cinner (ARC Centre of Excellence in Coral Reef Studies, James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, Australia)
ISRS World Reef Award to: Dr. Ranjeet Bhagooli (Faculty of Ocean Studies, University of Mauritius, Mauritius)
ISRS Fellow Status (FISRS): Philip Munday (ARC Centre of Excellence in Coral Reef Studies, James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, Australia), Andrew Hoey (ARC Centre of Excellence in Coral Reef Studies, James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, Australia) and Sue Wells (Cambridge, England, UK). In addition, the recipients of the above-listed awards automatically achieve ISRS Fellow Status.
