Mideast Chapter
The Middle East chapter of ICRS represents members of the Mideast Coral Reef Society (MCRS). MCRS is an association of researchers and members of governmental, non-governmental, academic, industry and private sector organizations with an interest in a broad range of aspects of Middle Eastern reefs, including in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, western Arabian Sea, Sea of Oman and the Arabian/Persian Gulf. The organization promotes collaboration among researchers and knowledge exchange with stakeholders outside academia with the aim to generate a deep understanding of the functioning of these unique ecosystems and to promote their conservation and sustainable use. Our most recent meeting was the Arabian Coral Reefs conference, held at New York University Abu Dhabi in November 2019.
