2020 Graduate Fellowship Recipients

Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 ICRS Graduate Fellowships!

The Society received 33 research proposals, many of excellent quality and caliber.  We are tremendously proud of our students – thank you to all who submitted applications!

2020 Awardees

  • Rachel Carlson, Stanford University, United States of America. Project: Strength in small places: mapping coral larvae in a warming ocean
  • Matías Gómez Corrales, University of Rhode Island, United States of America. Project: Cryptic diversity matters for coral conservation
  • Charlotte Page, University of New South Wales, Australia. Project:Microbial dynamics during coral reef restoration: the impacts of environment on meta-organism function
  • Rodrigo Rodríguez Vázquez, Universidad Nacional Autónoma De México, Mexico. Project: Spatiotemporal evaluation of juvenile corals dynamics in a critical condition reef by underwater multispectral orthomosaics
  • Twinkle Sebastian, Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, India. Project: Regime shifts in Lakshadweep atoll reef ecosystem
  • Kevin Wong, University of Rhode Island, United States of America. Project: Determine the mechanisms driving cross-generational plasticity in reef-building corals to thermal stress

Graduate Fellowships are up to US$2,500, which may be used to cover the costs of fieldwork, or visiting another laboratory, in order to obtain results that are to be included within a thesis submitted for a research degree (e.g. PhD, MPhil, or MSc by research).
