Dalio Travel Grants for Malaysian Reef Practitioners
Funds are available to support a limited number of reef practitioners who are citizens of and work within Malaysia to attend the International Coral Reef Symposia in Auckland, New Zealand in 2026.
Funds for this award have been generously provided by Dalio Philanthropies to enable representation of Malaysian reef research, conservation and management at the global conference in July 2026 in Auckland, New Zealand.
To be eligible, applicants must provide evidence of a submitted abstract for a presentation (oral or poster) at ICRS2026 and proof of Malaysian citizenship (e.g. passport copy). Applications should also provide an estimated total budget to attend ICRS2026 (return flights, hotels, meals (assume US$300 overall), conference registration fee (see the ‘upper-middle income country’ category at the bottom of this page for pricing depending on whether the applicant is a student or professional), as well as NZ entry visa application cost (assume US$450). Please provide screenshots for estimated flight and hotel costs, and use US Dollars for all estimates.
The applicant should also provide a maximum 1 page application narrative that indicates their career status (student, early career (<5 years post-university), mid-career (5-15 years ), or late career (>15 years); gender; Malaysian state of residence; and a description of how this travel grant would support their professional development.
